It has been a long time since I experienced an evening at a restaurant where service, ambiance, and food all came together in such a cohesive and professional way as I experienced at True Blue Butcher and Barrell this past Saturday night. We had reservations for 3 (7:30) the day after Valentine's Day so expected it to be busy. Upon arrival we were told it would be about 15 minutes before our table was ready. That's cool, we walked around the bar next door and scoped out the area. When we got back to the restaurant we sat down at a table outside by the front door. The hostess immediately came out and apologized for the continued delay, but a few tables had guests that were not leaving in a timely manner long after finishing their meal and could they offer us a glass champagne. Yes, thank-you. Very thoughtful. We were finally seated around 8:10. We were cool with the delay as they can only control what they can control, and schmucks taking up a table long past paying the check is one thing they can't control. We we met Erin, our server, and there was no way anyone was going to be cross with her as her professionalism, sweetness, and smile had us us at "My name is Erin". After placing our orders almost immediately she returned to the table with two appetizers, the Elote Curled Corn and Pecan Smoked Wings, a gift from the kitchen with apologies for the wait. At that point, the evening was a win as it was, but turns out the corn was out of this world and the wings as good as any I've ever had. Erin was kind enough to let me cancel the salad I had ordered, as we had plenty of starters at this point, and I was going to be fine with my Smash Burger as was everyone with else with their burger and Salmon Oscar, all of which were cooked perfectly and delicious. One final observation. I probably am too aware of my surroundings at times, but in this case couldn't help but notice what seemed to be genuine great chemistry and respect between all the servers, hostesses, and other staff. The place was packed and everybody was just smiling and having a good time while being highly efficient. What a great evening. We will be back when in Wilmington again.

Dinner was exceptional. Portions are very large. My husband had pork chops... it came with 2.... He said so tender, no fat, very tasty! Side veggies had a nice variety, and again a large portion. My petite filet was cooked perfectly.. the " frites" could have been hotter.

I decided to go to True Blue Butcher and Barrel restaurant tonight, and I'm glad I made that decision. It's a very casual spot in terms of vibe, but definitely not in terms of the food they serve. The cuts of meat are displayed beautifully, and the quality is superb. We were greeted by Mitchell, our server, who was not only personable and engaging but also well-versed in the True Blue Butcher Barrel brand. He easily recommended various cocktails based on our spirit of choice, as well as food options. Everything was absolutely delicious! My nephew had the ribeye, while my niece and I had the New York strip. We opted for macaroni and cheese, asparagus, french fries, and mushrooms as our sides. For dessert, we indulged in the tart and the carrot cake. I absolutely cannot wait until I'm in town again just so I can visit this spot.

True Blue's reputation speaks for itself! We have been many many times and never had a single complaint. They are consistent and no matter what you order, the food will be outstanding! We recently tried their steaks for the first time and WOW! What a great cut of meat and cooked to absolute perfection! The service is always outstanding and they truly cater to your every need. I can't wait to go back!

Went for a late dinner on a Saturday night. Parking was a nightmare. We ended up in an overflow gravel lot next door after circling the block twice. Our server was very knowledgeable, especially about all the bourbons. The old fashioned was top notch. No beers on tap. Local selections are by the can. I had the asparagus salad which had lots of fresh greens. I asked for the asparagus to be roasted and they gladly accommodated me. The green goddess dressing didn't taste like much. I'd recommend selecting a different dressing. Others in my group had the smash burger and the Carolina hot chicken which were both enjoyed.

Absolutely amazing service and the food was flawless! I am a chef and I ate at the one near landfall with a manufacturer rep. The server was amazing and knew all The correct terminology to use in describing the menu and the specials. The food was flavorful, well seasoned and well balanced. Cheers to the entire team! Seriously well done!

Came here for lunch in a weekday . There was wait and we're seated promptly. It was a very trendy atmosphere and service was excellent. Lobster roll was great! Came with a side of melted butter and a lightly dressed salad. Their was marinated tomatoes and garlic in the salad. Really light and tasty dish. The lobster roll was good too. My friend enjoyed the burger (it was huge). Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch.
